Capturing eating out growth
Through a series of acquisitions, disposals and brand evolution, Mitchells & Butlers has reshaped its business to focus on the growth in the eating out market. Nearly three quarters of our sales relate to guests using our businesses to eat. It is no longer as exposed to the steady decline in the sales of on-trade drinks without food. The current portfolio of brands is as follows:

Over the last ten to fifteen years, Mitchells & Butlers has created and developed a wide group of industry-leading brands. Some brands such as Toby and Harvester have been evolved over a number of years through incremental brand enhancements. Other brands such as Crown Carveries and Premium Country Dining Group have been created, trialled and rolled out to form highly successful brands.
The major acquisitions and disposals that have also assisted in reshaping the business are:

Moving forward, we will grow sales and profits by developing our strong brands such as Toby Carvery, Harvester, Sizzling Pubs and Vintage Inns. Organically we will achieve this through improved operational efficiency and consistency, as well as increased targeted marketing spend. We will also look to expand the distribution of our brands by finding new locations for the existing brand set.
