To mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25th June 2016, Mitchells & Butlers has signed the Armed Forces Covenant in recognition of its active support for the Services in the UK.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.

The Armed Forces work with a range of business partners in order to support those who serve. As a Covenant member, Mitchells & Butlers is committing to proactively work with the Armed Forces community, through both employing Reservists and ex-service personnel and encouraging them to join the business in future careers.

A career in the Armed Forces opens up many doors, and the skills that are learnt in the Navy, Royal Marines, Army or RAF can prove invaluable in a civilian career. Mitchells & Butlers regularly looks to the ex-forces and Reservists for new recruits as it continues to innovate the hospitality sector. With pubs, bars and restaurants such as Harvester, Sizzling Pubs, All Bar One and Miller & Carter steakhouse, employees have the opportunity to develop new and existing skills and transfer them across a number of established brands.

Phil Urban, CEO, Mitchells & Butlers said: "Mitchells & Butlers, like the Armed Forces, brings together a diverse community along with a number of different careers and opportunities. The ability to be self-motivated, flexible and work as part of a team are key attributes for our staff in all elements of our companies and are just some of the attributes that time served in the Armed Forces can bring."

In addition, Mitchells & Butlers' brand Toby Carvery will be honouring Armed Forces Day by offering all military personnel a free carvery on Saturday 25 June.
