Mitchells & Butlers raise £70,000 for the Prince's Trust

Mitchells & Butlers raise £70,000 for the Prince's Trust!

Over the past six months two teams of Mitchells & Butlers' employees have given their time and efforts to raise over £70,000 for the Prince's Trust Million Makers Programme.

The Prince's Trust Million Makers programme is a national competition, which challenges teams of employees and university students to come together and raise funds for the Prince's Trust, helping to make a real difference to the lives of many disadvantaged young people across the UK.

Million Makers teams have to pitch their initial business plans to a Dragon's Den style panel, in order to secure an initial investment from the Prince's Trust.

Different teams from companies and organisations across the UK then implement and promote their own mini enterprise. Aspiring Million Makers entrepreneurs must work together to turn their initial funding into profit for the Prince's Trust over the course of six months, competing against each other to run the most profitable mini enterprise!

The M&B teams threw themselves into the challenge and organised a series of fundraising projects including, a world record car wash attempt; Toby Carvery month of Sundays raffles, an All Bar One fundraising day and a photography stall at the annual Christmas Party.

The Prince's Trust went on to recognise this fantastic work by crowning the M&B team winners of the West Midlands regional fundraising competition and taking fourth place in the national competition too!

Following their win in the regional final the two teams were invited to the red carpet at the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square for the Prince's Trust Celebrate Success Awards.

The awards honoured the achievements of disadvantaged young people who have overcome struggles such as abuse, homelessness and depression to transform their lives with the help of The Prince's Trust.

The Prince's Trust believes all young people deserve a second chance. They support young people who are unemployed or underachieving in education, helping them build the life they choose rather than the one they've ended up with. To find out more about Million Makers, click here
