Mitchells & Butlers is celebrating raising over £11,328 for the British Heart Foundation following a charity bike ride.
A team of 21 employee's from different departments in the company set out on a 116.6 mile bike ride on June 21st - the longest day of the year. The team rode from Birmingham to Hemel Hempstead via seven Harvester restaurants.
The team began their journey from the M&B head office on Fleet Street, to the Arden Oak Harvester in Birmingham to the Elms Harvester in Coventry and then onto The Barge Harvester in Rugby, Grange Park Harvester in Northampton, The Fountain Harvester in Milton Keynes and The White Hart Harvester in Leighton Buzzard before finally finishing at the Mallard Harvester in Hemel Hempstead.
The fundraising initiative was created in honour of Jasen Snyders, a Mitchells & Butlers employee who sadly passed away in 2014 from heart failure.
Speaking about the charity bike ride, Mark Jones, menu support manager, said: "Following the passing of Jasen, we really wanted to do something meaningful in his memory and raising money for the British Heart Foundation seemed like the perfect way to remember him. The bike ride was very challenging but the whole team completed the 116.6 mile ride and are absolutely thrilled to have raised over £11,000 for the charity.
"I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and donated to the cause, we will definitely be doing more fundraising events like this in the future."
