Crown Carveries celebrates the royal wedding

Crown Carveries celebrates the royal wedding

With only 12 weeks to go until the most talked-about wedding of the year, the UK's only regal carvery brand has created the first official 'fork-trait' of the happy couple, to mark the celebration in style.

Crown Carveries, which boasts 115 pubs nationwide, prides itself on always delivering a royal welcome for all of its customers and with such stately standing in the UK, the carvery brand wanted to roll out the red carpet for the royal couple and create a carrot-cature that would be fit for a king (and his bride-to-be).

Martin Gosling, retail operations director for Crown Carveries, said: "The menu choice for the big day has sparked much debate and as Crown Carveries is the most regal carvery brand in the UK we wanted to produce the first official 'fork-trait' using all the majestic ingredients found on one of our princely banquets - a roast with all the trimmings - to give the happy couple a tasteful memento of their special day."

Crown Carveries enlisted the help of legendary food artist Prudence Staite, of Food is Art, to create the now world-famous engagement portraits. The masterpiece took approximately two hours to make using all the typical ingredients found at a Crown Carvery - and all that's great about a traditional roast dinner.

Amongst other ingredients, the 'fork-trait' was produced by using turkey for the skin; beef and gammon for the hair; cauliflower for Will's shirt; peas, green beans and sprouts for Will's jumper; carrots for Kate's dress; gravy and sauces to define their features; and gravy for the 'iconic' engagement ring.

At Crown Carveries every customer is king. The brand believes in giving everyone a royal welcome without charging a right royal mint for the privilege, which is why a roast dinner costs from just £3.69.
