Pubs of Distinction

The holidays are coming...

Nicholson's Pubs has always been proud of the craftsmanship, innovation and heritage it celebrates. Originally gin producers back in the 1800s today Nicholson's warm hospitality, premium ales and fine food and drink choices are synonymous with over 80 locations across the UK, and over the past few months has enjoyed some exciting developments to push the boundaries of cask ale even further.

This October Nicholson's launched its first Autumn Ale Festival offering a veritable treat of award winning real ales and new and exclusive brews. Rotating 60 casks available, Nicholson's extended its regular feature of 12 casks to over 20 autumnal ales.

During the festival, Nicholson's launched its new Cask Ale Club. Committed in providing a real ale experience to guests, each pub has its own accredited Cask Ale master available for customers to ask any questions or queries regarding the selected ales on offer. Now with the new club, members can register by visiting www.nicholsonspubs.co.uk/caskaleclub to receive all cask ale news taking place in Nicholson's as well as receive exclusive offers.

The festival also launched the second Great British Home Brew Challenge in collaboration with Thornbridge Brewery. Home brew enthusiasts can enter their own recipes and the winner will be created into a production brew by the brewery and made available across all Nicholson's Pubs across the UK in Spring 2013. Full details are available on www.gbhomebrew.co.uk and entries must be received by 31st January 2013.

A continuing drive for innovation sees Nicholson's managers regularly working together with breweries to exclusively create exciting and interesting seasonal flavours. Celebrating the festive season, Nicholson's Cask Ale Masters created and produced a selection of seven exclusive Christmas Ales in collaboration with some of the UK's top brewers - Andwells, Brentwood, Broughton, Moorhouse, Oxfordshire, Sambrooks and Vale. Launched by Melissa Cole, Great British Beer Writer member and author of Let Me Tell You About Beer, these ales are available across over 80 pubs nationwide throughout December 2012. Be warned - once these tasty beers are gone, they're gone!

Keen to sensitively share better understanding of the extensive range of ales available, Nicholson's has created handy A5 guest menus outlining which ales are currently being served with their tasting notes. Alternatively peruse the new Beer Library in some of the pubs where guests are welcomed to learn more about the history and brewing of beer at their leisure.

And if that's not enough, continuing to strive to make its extensive knowledge and passion for beer readily available to guests, Nicholson's recently launched its first blog T'Ales Worth Knowing talking about exciting news and developments within the cask ale sector, sharing behind the scenes decisions of the managers and brewers and what guests thought of the final product.
