Mitchells & Butlers' Magpie wins Great British Pub Award

The Magpie, Bishopsgate, London has won the Best Cellar award at the Morning Advertiser Great British Pub Awards 2008.

The awards took place at London's Hilton, Park Lane and are specifically aimed recognising excellence in pub retailing across a diverse range of categories.

Morning Advertiser editor Andrew Pring said: "In these difficult times, it's all the more important to recognise licensees who go the extra mile to make their pubs a success."

Two other Mitchells & Butlers pubs won regional awards on the night, with the Church Inn, Llanishen winning Best Managed Pub for Wales, and the Spaniards, Hampstead winning Best Creative Outdoor Area for London.
