Greet spring with delicious ales

Nicholson's offer real ales and real choice

Sunshine and warm breezes or storms and gales? Whatever the season's weather, one thing you can rely on is our spring ales collection. Your Nicholson's local is pulling 25 cask ales, with a different range on tap from week to week.

Real ales, real choice

Highlights of our spring show include:

  • St Austell, Proper Job, 4.5% ABV
Powerfully-hopped bitter blasting with citrus grapefruit flavours. Crafted from selected malts, including the exclusive Cornish gold, and Willamette, Cascade and Chinook hops. Crowned Europe's Best IPA at the World Beer Awards.
  • Andwell, Spring Magic, 4.4% ABV
A light and floral traditional brew to fill you with the season's spirit. Crystal and Munich malts, and orange-scented First Gold hops, blend to make its golden amber colour and mouth-watering bitterness. Fresh as an April shower.
  • Adnams, Kristel White, 4.2% ABV
Southwold's speciality blond bombshell fills your nostrils with banana and cloves aromas. Then your mouth with flavours of malted wheat, barley and German noble hops. Plus toffee hints and a subtle sweet finish.
  • Triple fff, Moondance, 4.2%
Triple fff's most award-winning ale is a full and moreish best bitter with fruit-cocktail accents. Its aromatic US Cascade hops are the kind of detail you'd expect from a producer which started life as a home-brewing outfit.
  • Great Heck, Treasure IPA, 4.8%
Yorkshire-brewed golden ale named after the irrigated desert at Treasure Valley in Idaho, USA, where the beer's Willamette hops are grown. Blended with Amarillo, Cascade, Chinook, Citra and Simcoe varieties, these provide a fruity complement to the beers, low and balanced bitterness.
  • Roosters, Astro, 4.3%
A star in the making, this Yorkshire-crafted pale ale is seasoned with Galaxy hops from another world - well, Australia anyway. Aromatic and easy drinking with flavours of citrus and passion fruit that'll send you into orbit.

Share the passion

At Nicholson's, we put the 'ask' in 'cask'. If you want help exploring our bounty of brews, just ask the friendly staff at your local, who'll be happy to share their real-ale expertise and passion. Each of our pubs is Casque Mark accredited - meaning every pint pulled is perfectly conditioned - with a character and atmosphere all its own.

Make a meal of it

Once you've found the brew to match the occasion, why not pair it with your choices from our pub-food menu? You'll find it springing with favourites like line-caught cod fillet hand-dipped in Nicholson's Pale Ale batter, fried and served with skin-on chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce.
