Summertime at Nicholson's Pubs

Vote for your favourite Spring Real Ale with Ember

Summer time and the drinking is easy. At your local Nicholson's pub, we're pulling 25 mouth-watering seasonal cask ales from June to August, with a different range on tap each week.

Real ales, real choice

Highlights of our summer selection include:

  • Thornbridge, Roc Fall, 4.3%
    Winner of Nicholson's pubs' Great British Home Brew Challenge 2012/2013, this speciality ale is set to wow you too. Can you resist its avalanche of malty and tropical-fruit sensations? Invitingly amber and crafted with Green Bullet and Citra hops.
  • Hop Back, Summer Lightning, 5% ABV
    Electrify your eyes, nose and taste-buds with one of Britain's most awarded ales, brewed in Wiltshire. Straw coloured with a fresh, hoppy aroma; East Kent Goldings hops feed the intense bitterness and long, dry finish.
  • Acorn, Barnsley Bitter, 3.8% ABV
    Plant this traditional bitter from Yorkshire's Acorn Brewery in your glass and your passion for it's sure to grow. Maris Otter malt and English Challenger hops make for the chestnut colour, caramel, biscuity flavours and long-lasting finish.
  • Copper Dragon, Black Gold, 3.7% ABV
    Excite your session with a rich, silky dark ale, crafted in Skipton, Yorkshire. English Pilgrim hops, and traditional coloured and roasted malts, flood your mouth with uniquely rich and luscious flavours.
  • Exmoor, Gold, 4.5% ABV
    You don't have to pan for reasons to enjoy this traditional, Somerset-brewed beauty. Pale like lager, but filled with malty and citrus flavours swelled by Goldings Challenger and Fuggles Challenger hops.
