Tuborg and ONeills launch Hometown Festival with Scouting for Girls

Tuborg Lager, in partnership with O'Neill's, is launching a national promotion which will see one local O'Neill's pub host the Tuborg Hometown Festival on 14 September.

Platinum selling Scouting for Girls will headline the end of summer festival, the Tuborg Hometown Festival, and it will take place at an O'Neill's pub determined by the public.

The festival could take place in any of the 21 participating O'Neill's pub from Aberdeen to Bournemouth.  Over the next two months, each time a member of the public purchases a pint of Tuborg Lager from their local participating O'Neill's pub, they cast a vote for their local pub to win the chance to host the festival.  All votes will then be entered into the draw with the winning O'Neill's pub chosen in mid-August.

Scouting For Girls will take the headlining slot at the festival, with support coming from singer songwriter Sam Isaac and south London four piece, The Rushes.

A further two support slots on the festival bill will be filled by local bands who already perform at O'Neill's pubs up and down the country.  They will compete in local and regional heats, with the best acts battling it out at the national final at O'Neill's in Muswell Hill on 20 August.

Simon Green, marketing manager for Tuborg, said: "Tuborg has expanded its association with music this year to become the single biggest sponsor of the summer festivals.  What better way to end the summer with a small, intimate gig supporting music at the grass roots level as well as with platinum-selling Scouting For Girls?"

Kirstie Yates, senior marketing manager for O'Neill's, added: "Great live music is really important to the O'Neill's brand.  We see the Tuborg Hometown Festival as a key component in building our music offering and making O'Neill's synonymous with live music."

The winning O'Neill's pub will be announced in August.  For more information please visit http://www.oneills.co.uk/ , www.myspace.com/oneills2008 , or http://www.tuborgmusic.com/ .
