Mitchells & Butlers announces that as from today, John Lovering has stepped down as Chairman and non-executive director of the Company and that the Board has appointed Simon Burke as non-executive Chairman.
Simon Burke joined the Board in January 2010 as non-executive Deputy Chairman. He is also Chairman of HobbyCraft and a non-executive director of the BBC Executive Board.
As announced previously, plans are being progressed to appoint additional non-executive directors to the Board.
Commenting on his appointment, Simon Burke said "I would like to pay tribute to John for the significant advances he has overseen at Mitchells & Butlers in the past year. We thank him and wish him well for the future. I am delighted to take on this role and I plan to continue the progress in pursuing our strategy."
