Here's what has been happening in our businesses for charity this month...

Crown Carveries supported Armed Forces Day by giving away 7523 free carveries to Service people past and present between Monday 25th and Saturday 30th June.

Sizzling Pub the Grove, Newark took advantage of the extra custom generated by the Olympic Torch Relay passing its front door on 28th June, by running a family fun day in aid of Cancer Research. They raised over £700 proving they are a real part of the local community.

Cancer Research UK were also supported by the Masons Arms, Solihull who helped raise over £1500 for colleagues running in the local Race for Life.

The Tron, Edinburgh held their bi-annual Big Fat Quiz and Auction in aid of Marie Curie on 28th June and managed to raise £558.83. Suppliers and local businesses generously donated fantastic prizes showing a real sense of community spirit. They are already planning another event for New Year's Eve.

Finally Vintage Inns' Quordon Fox, Leicester helped out a local school fete by running a food and drink stall. The £3000 raised at the event will go towards funding much needed equipment for the school. Assistant Manager, Richard Loakes said: "Working with the school ensures our involvement with the community in Quorn, and a large number of the parents (and children) frequent the Fox on a regular basis."
