Esther Bennett the General Manager of The Longhorn Ember Inn, in Walsall, jumped out of a plane on Saturday 27 April, to raise money for Cash for Kids. This is one of numerous charity events that Esther is personally supporting in her quest to beat last years fundraising total (£18,000).

Her flying partner Ed did so much to encourage Esther and calm her nerves, convincing her that she really would enjoy it! Importantly, she has raised a lot of money for the Cash for Kids charity. Customers as well as staff turned out to support Esther on the day. They sat and encouraged her during an unfortunate delay in her jump time and cheered her on as she boarded the plane. It proved to be a truly exciting day that raised a lot of money for a really good cause.

Elsewhere in York, team member Sarah Fawcett from the Cross Keys in York (Nicholson's) took part in a sponsored hitchhike across seven European countries in seven days to raise money for LINKS International. Sarah started her journey in Leeds and was successful in reaching the final check point in Croatia after 22 different rides. She had some real adventures along the way including being picked up by a truck driver who mistakenly took her to Italy rather than Slovenia!

As well as this epic sponsored adventure, Sarah also topped up her fundraising by hosting a fun quiz at her university, helped with a bag pack at her local ASDA and carried out a street collection managing to raise a mighty £780 for LINK International. What an achievement and what a way to raise money for charity!
