Eden Arms, Doncaster, takes on the Sahara Trek challenge!

Rebecca Greenwood, General Manager at the Eden Arms and Debbie Illingworth, Team Member at the Eden Arms recently completed the Sahara Trek in order to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The pair started out on their four day trek from Marrakech, entering the desert at M'hamid, which is a small town on the edge of the Sahara, this is where the road runs out and the desert truly begins!

Their challenge saw them hiking over sand dunes and rocks, enduring blistering heat and winds. They ended their challenge on a high climbing 100m up to the Erg Chigaga dunes to watch the sunrise.

Rebecca Greenwood said: "I think for both of us it's the personal achievement in pushing yourself physically and mentally to achieve something you never thought you would or could do. The feeling when you get to the end is so emotional knowing you achieved something so tough personally but managed to really help a charity at the same time. The whole experience was incredibly rewarding!"

They have so far managed to raise a whopping £3,450, but still have some sponsorship to collect and are well on their way to reaching their target of £3,600!
