Home of the Roast – At sea
Toby Carvery have been supporting the Armed Forces and Royal British Legion for a number of years, but for this year and to celebrate Remembrance Day they decided to take that support one step further.
Marking their continued support Toby Carvery took the Home of the Roast to sea, arranging for Kitchen Skills Trainer, James Smith, to board the Royal Navy's HMS Northumberland and cook a traditional roast with chef Mitchell for the ship's crew.
Speaking to LT CDR Richard Hudson, Weapons Engineering Officer onboard the HMS Northumberland, James was told the crew had been on operation at sea for over six weeks and look forward to their Sunday roast every week. Richard commented that "food is extremely important to its crew, and the ship runs on its stomach!"
